Haiti Home of Hope

Bill, Jennifer, and Jesse Campbell

Text Box: Haitian Herald
February 2008

“That the generation to come might know...” God’s presence was shown mightily throughout the entire Missions Conference! Praise be to Him! The ministry of Haiti Home of Hope was revealed to many new faces, several of whom desire to connect in a tangible way with the orphanage. Thank you to all who gave prayerfully and financially.

God has shown His mighty power in the lives of the Campbell family. Their willingness to leave everything familiar to follow God’s call was an amazing display of trust in the Lord! Because they chose to listen, God is blessing the people of Pignon, Haiti in a tremendous way! Bill, Jennifer, and Jesse have returned to the orphanage, and the children are thrilled to have their family home again! The Campbells were grateful for the time they were able to spend in fellowship with believers here in the States, but their hearts are with the precious orphans in Pignon.

As Haiti Home of Hope continues to grow, so does the list of projects. The first undertaking will be expanding the girls’ house. The current house is already overcrowded and leaves much to be desired. Twelve girls are sleeping, bathing, and getting ready for school in a 20 ft. x 20 ft. space. While the care they receive at the orphanage exceeds anything the girls have ever known, the Campbells have a desire to improve the housing situation, and the Haiti Home of Hope committee could not agree more.

Even as God continues to bless His work in Pignon, the enemy is keenly aware of what is being done. Ephesians 6:11 says to “put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Verse 18 of the same chapter commands us to “pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” As believers, it is clear that we are commanded to be a praying people. May we continue to be in prayer for the children at the orphanage, the families being helped through the food clinic, and all others who are exposed to this ministry. Remember also to pray for the Haitian government as it continues to need improvement. In 1 Timothy 1:18-19, Paul writes to Timothy, encouraging him to fight the good fight, and in 2:1-2, to pray for all men, especially those in authority. May we pray that God will use the leaders in Haiti for His purpose.
